Presidential Free-Standing Light

The Presidential Free-Standing Light is built around a simple combination of formed aluminium, clean geometry and a softly rounded glass shade. The manufacturing process focuses on keeping each element refined and understated, allowing the materials and proportions to define the finished piece.

The process begins with 1.5mm thick aluminium sheet, which is cut and formed to create the circular base. The base is fabricated to provide a stable foundation for the tall, slender profile of the light while maintaining its minimal aesthetic.

The vertical stem is fabricated from 19mm diameter round aluminium tube with a 1.5mm wall thickness. The tube is cut to length and carefully positioned before being secured to the base, creating the clean vertical line that defines the structure.

Once fabrication is complete, the aluminium components are prepared and finished with a brushed surface. The finish is applied consistently across the base and stem, creating a subtle texture that allows the aluminium to retain its natural character without overpowering the design.

The final assembly brings together the brushed aluminium structure, exposed bulb and smoked glass shade. The rounded glass creates a soft contrast against the slender metal frame, allowing the light to cast a warm, atmospheric glow while maintaining the piece’s sculptural presence.

Standing at 1787mm high with a 500mm diameter base, the finished Presidential Light is a carefully balanced combination of structure, material and light.
