Monkey Statue

The project began with a design brief from the client to create a monkey statue mounted above a natural stone base. The stone measures approximately 350mm wide × 1m high and was cut from a single block of natural rock, providing the foundation for the sculpture.
Based on the brief, the monkey statue was fabricated to sit above the stone rather than directly on its surface. To achieve this, 19mm round tubing was fabricated and used as the structural support between the stone and the statue. The tubing was positioned to provide the required elevation while securely connecting the monkey to the stone base.

The stone was prepared to receive the support structure, with the mounting points accurately positioned to correspond with the fabricated frame and the underside of the statue. The monkey was then mounted onto the 19mm tubing, creating a supported connection between the sculpture and the natural rock.
The installation required the fabricated components and natural stone to work together as a single assembly, with the stone providing the base and the round tubing carrying the monkey above it. Once assembled, the completed piece was positioned within the interior and secured in its final location.
