Balloon Chair

The Balloon Chair begins with mild steel round tubing, with the backrest fabricated from 101.6mm diameter × 2mm wall tube and the legs formed from 76mm diameter × 2mm wall tube. The tubing is cut to length and prepared before being assembled into the chair’s frame.

The backrest and legs are positioned and welded together to create the rounded structure. Hollow ball end caps are then fitted to the ends of the 101.6mm backrest tube and 76mm legs, giving the chair its characteristic rounded finish. All welded areas are cleaned and prepared before the frame moves on to finishing.

The completed frame is then primed before being sprayed with the selected paint colour, creating the smooth painted finish across the chair. Once the frame is complete, the seat is upholstered in velvet and fitted to the finished structure, completing the Balloon Chair.
